Landmark restaurant Yamashiro in the Los Angeles, is seeking an experienced, energetic and highly talented Sous Chef to join the Team.Our Sous Chef is responsible for: Responsibilities: * Hiring, training, and discipline of kitchen Team Members* Reviewing and evaluating all kitchen Team Members and controlling labor cost* Responsible for all kitchen administration; we have four separate kitchens that serve the entire restaurant and events.* Responsible for cost control* Works with Executive Chef in developing additional menu items* Ensures consistency and portioning of all food* Responsible for in-restaurant purchasing* Ensures a clean and sanitary kitchen* Ensures upkeep, repair, and maintenance of all kitchen equipmentRequired Skills:*Must be able to Expedite all kitchens* Experience in all stations on the line* Has great decision-making skills* Has superb organizational skills* Ability to command, lead, and maintain the standard of Executive Chef.* Able to order and receive* Proactive, punctual and a great communicator (must read, write and speak English)* Must be committed to our mission and cultureRequired Experience:* Must have at least 2-3 years experience working as a Sous Chef * POS and Office computer software experience is preferred.
