Job Title: Front of House StaffReports To: Tap Room ManagerBackground: Join the family of historic restaurants like McSorley’s (1858) in NYC and Antoine’s (1840) in New Orleans. Waldmann (1857) Brewery and Wurstery brings together history, craft work, and service to community. Waldmann is incorporated as a public benefit corporation, built around the idea of returning value both as a brewery/restaurant and a historic site that reflects the immigrant history of 19th century Saint Paul. The building has been restored with high attention to detail. We are focused on classic German beer paired with simple local food that respects traditional ideas without resting on cliches. Waldmann is a 60 seat table service restaurant. We are open seven days/week for lunch and dinner service. Our service team is led by an experienced bar and dining room manager. In addition to German beer knowledge, the service team will also play a docent role (as time allows) helping to tell the story of Anthony Waldmann and of 19th Century lager beer saloons. The menu is deliberately simple with a German focus. The beer is made in a beautiful new brewery specifically designed to produce lager beer. Waldmann is committed to building a fun work environment known for excellent service. The service element is every bit as essential as the building, the beer, and the bratwurst. Personal traits: Take pride in learning and teaching the craft. Have fun under pressure.Maintain standards personally and as a team.Qualifications:Available to work nights and weekends. We are hiring both fulltime and part time positions.Interest in starting something special from scratch - collaboratively and independently.Passion for lager beer and German food.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Excellent customer service skills.Attention to detail and ability to multitask.Able to anticipate and proactively address problems in a fast paced environment.Understanding of the importance of issues of inclusivity and diversity.Physical Requirements:Ability to navigate all areas of the dining room and back of house areas.Ability to work in refrigerated areas.Ability to lift 35 - 50 pounds.Ability to move full kegs with the use of a dolly.Ability to bend, reach, lift trays, and perform all service tasks in a crowded environment.If this sounds like you and you would like an interview, submit an application.
