Position: Director of Catering and Event Sales

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Ability to read, understand, interpret and make decisions based upon information found in a variety of catering, sales and banquet reports, financial statements, and other internal and external information. Sufficient mathematical skills to complete forecasts, budgets and financial reports, calculate menu prices and banquet checks, etc.
Possess thorough working knowledge of business development and sales techniques, catering and banquet operations, yield management, service standards and techniques, guest relations and etiquette, food and beverage service ware and equipment, food and beverage, menu development and the ability to practicably apply knowledge in a country club setting.
Ability to negotiate with confidence. Ability to be persuasive and overcome client objections.
Ability to communicate with clients and employees by phone and the ability to meet with and entertain clients on or off property.
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
Ability to compose and express thoughts, both orally and in writing, in a clear, and professional manner to ensure effective communications.
Ability to develop and maintain productive interpersonal relationships, the ability to relate well with a wide variety of individuals many of whom will require patience and tolerance, and the ability to effectively manage, train and develop staff.
Ability and flexibility to work long hours as business conditions demand.
Ability to manage multiple activities often in stressful situations.
Ability to organize oneself, one's work, the efforts of others and be attentive to detail.
Possess the professional style and sufficient confidence to effectively represent the Club and execute the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Ability to make effective judgements on all facets of catering and banquet operations, and the ability to effectively solve guest and operational problem
Participate in community events to promote the Oakmont and good will in the community.
Perform set up and service duties as needed.
Conduct site tours.
Perform other duties as assigned such as participating in restaurant management operations, clean, well-groomed appearance. Position demands professional, stylish, up-to-date/classic business attire

Compensation:
Compensation will be D.O.E. It will be a combination of base salary with event sales commission. Health insurance, and vacation benefits will also be available.
