The Birchwood Cafe is a pioneer in the Twin Cities farm to table movement.
We are a community conscious neighborhood cafe. Through our strong relationships with our farmers, we specialize in sustainably, organically, and locally-grown ingredients to make our Good Real Food.

We are looking for a Sous Chef that shares our values to join our team. We work in a collaborative, high paced environment that requires flexibility and accountability while providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Core components of the position include:

Execution of food preparation for restaurant service, catering, and special orders
Collaboration + communication within the kitchen leadership team
Growth + development of cooks
Menu design + recipe development
Systems development + implementation

After a training period, this will be an hourly position and one that will allow for a healthy work + life balance. Wages are contingent upon performance and experience.

*** This position is Overtime eligible and receives the bulk of OT hours***

The Sous Chef is a full-time position. This position is accountable to the Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and the restaurant’s Kitchen Leadership Team.
