Position Summary:
Reporting to the Equator Pantry Manager, the Baking Assistant's primary responsibility is to prepare bake and package pastries for Equator's Pantry Program.

Position will consist of early morning shits, beginning at 2:00 am, prepping, baking and packaging our scones, cookies, breads, etc. to be delivered fresh to our cafes.

Seeking a creative, food loving, early rising self-starter.

Food service experience preferred but if you have a love and knowledge of cooking and baking we will consider training. Knowledge of food safety, weights and measures, baking ingredients and general cooking processes. Follow established recipes and packaging requirements. This position requires a high level of self-initiative, awareness of time management and a desire to create great looking food items. We use top quality ingredients, many organic.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Must maintain current state issued Food Handler Card
• Baking experience preferred
• Ability to cooperate successfully as a member of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others, including giving and receiving feedback on the quality of services. Uses communication that is clear, honest, and complete.
• Ability to read and speak English proficiently.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• At times, may require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
• Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding and register).

Work Environment
• Customary Work Days- Varies dependent upon weekly schedule. Saturday & Sunday are required days of availability.
• Customary Work Hours- Shifts typically begin at 2:00am. Hours are extended when work load is increased.
