The Birchwood Cafe is a pioneer in the Twin Cities farm to table movement.
We are a community conscious neighborhood restaurant. Through our strong relationships with our farmers, we specialize in sustainable, organic, and locally-grown ingredients to make our Good Real Food. We change the menu 8 times a year to highlight and celebrate the bounty throughout the different growing seasons.

We are looking for an HR Administrator that shares our values to join our team. We work in a collaborative, fast paced environment that requires flexibility and accountability while providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Qualified applicants will possess:
- Previous HR or restaurant leadership experience
- Familiarity with the restaurant industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Positivity and ability to inspire it in others
- Experience working with spreadsheets
- Self-discipline + a high degree of personal mastery
- Excellent working references
- Strong motivation + ability to work independently
- Above all, strong values for community, teamwork, and collaboration

The HR Administrator position will be a flexible part-time position, with potential to grow into a full-time position. This position is accountable to the restaurant’s Leadership Team.

General responsibilities:
Assistance with bookkeeping + payroll administration
Data entry relating to HR functions, bookkeeping, and payroll
Member of the recruiting and hiring team
New hire welcoming and onboarding
Benefits administration
Employee review coordination
Quarterly employee newsletter and other projects to promote positive workplace culture
Conflict mediation
Policy development and legal compliance
