Prep Chef/Line Cook

High volume, scratch kitchen team is seeking a skilled, experienced prep chef/line cook to join our growing kitchen staff and focus primarily on our new location. In this position, you will assist the culinary team with a variety of tasks. Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills are a must.

Prep Chef/Line Cook Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow our guidelines, pars, and checklist to create the prep list to be executed.
Properly execute our company's standardized recipes to prepare consistent and accurate food products, both simple and complex.
Have experience making vinaigrettes and emulsifying oil.
Label ingredients and food items and stock pantry and refrigerator shelves in an organized manner.
Work in a highly efficient and organized manner with a strong sense of urgency, taking ownership and pride in all tasks.
Properly store food items in designated containers.
Sanitize work areas and equipment.
Measure seasonings, condiments, and ingredients for use in cooking.
Portion and wrap food.
Wash, peel, and chop fruits and vegetables in an efficient and timely manner, using our high standards.
Clean, cut, and portion meat, fish, poultry, and shellfish.
Have the experience and ability to clean and portion a whole beef tenderloin.
Use manual and electric equipment for food preparation, including a slicer. Have the knowledge and experience to use and properly clean a commercial slicer.
Perform cooking tasks such as stirring, straining, and parboiling food and reducing sauces.
Maintain records of quantities of foods and ingredients used.
Update supervisors when stock of food items or supplies are low.
Comply with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Be able and willing to work on the line during rushes, with experience in fry and sauté.
Flexible scheduling available with some evening availability required. Guaranteed Sunday nights and all day Mondays off.
